This was a project on request by interior designer Cindy Tirry. This house has been renovated: increasing the usable area while maintaining the supporting structure. That’s why the table is built around it. There are no supporting fulcrums other than the supporting beam and the wall. This table is made out of solid oak.

‘The Raft, art is (not) Lonely', concentrates on the vessel and the ecstasy of art. An exhibition by Mu.ZEE curated by Jan Fabre and Joanna De Vos in Ostend.
22 landmarks were made for the exhibition. These landmarks were placed throughout the city of Ostend to clearly show the visiting places on the trail.
The foot of the landmarks consists of heavy wooden boards that are secured together by metal support rods. The entire foot was then given a charred layer by burning the wood. The burning of wood is an ancient Japanese technique to give wood a longer life. The poles were made out of discarded train sleepers. We cleaned up the poles and gave them one smooth site by planning. The head of the sleeper had a layer of white coat where we engrave the name of the exhibition.
